I’m a terrible blogger
Posted in Weekly
So it’s been a month since my last real post. How disgusting of me! I decided after being in such a cheerful mood, i’d sit here and write my life over the last month out (or what I remember of it).
So yeah, the Cipe is a working man right now. Wasn’t the nice shiny placement I wanted but it’s something to do, something to put on the CV and more importantly, some money! Just doing general archiving work which actually isn’t so bad, albeit a little boring at times. The room i’m in is nice and free from about half 1 so I get a nice chilled out afternoon with my iPod in and some tunes a-blasting. Just been paid for the first week and a half I did and i’m a fair amount less in debt than before woo! Getting paid again real soon so the whole being broke thing should be over real soon. Looking forward to spending a bit of it as well…
So I usually open up with a little talk about wrestling. Bound For Glory has recently passed at TNA and I have to say most of the matches were a bit of a let down. There were a couple of exceptions (Van Dam-Lynn was incredible!) but the main event was pretty decent so it was overall a passable PPV, but not quite the big show of the year it was meant to be. On the other side of the coin, WWE had Vengeance which was actually pretty good. Highlight has to go to the obvious throwback to the Lesnar Superplex to the Big Show, this time performed by Mark Henry. It was a nice twist that the last man standing match then followed… in the broken ring. Of course being a last man standing match it didn’t stay in the ring for long and soon took to the ramp. All in all really good and the road to Survivor Series has begun the possibility of a Cena+Rock tag team vs Awesome Truth. We’ll find out on tonight’s Raw but it’s shaping up to be a mad one!
TV has actually been really good. Gossip Girl has an INCREDIBLE ending last week so tonight’s episode will hopefully elaborate a little on the twists that have been revealed. I won’t reveal anything specific so I don’t ruin it for my select few who actually watch the show (yes, all none of you). 90210 took a break last week but so far it’s been pretty solid with nothing TOO crazy happening yet, but I expect that all to change within the next couple of weeks. My new pickup Hart of Dixie has been a pretty nice watch from episode 1 really and though it’s nowhere near as dramatic as the other 2, it’s enjoyable to watch.
As I have done next to no reading this month, we’ll jump right into GAMES. Being a working man now I have next to no time during the week to play anything because i’m busy keeping up with my airing anime/shows/wrestling. I did however manage to play a lot of Reach earlier in the month, been honing my Street Fighter skills and started playing Arkham Asylum which a friend has borrowed me. Its a pretty good game and i’m quite enjoying playing a Batman game for the first time in what must be around a decade. It’s got some chaotic little fights in it and some really nice little upgrade elements which Marvel clearly stole in Shattered Dimensions the swines! Looking forward to finishing it soon.
Back onto Street Fighter, during the last month has been Seasons Beatings, which is a big fighting game tournament in the US, and EGL which is the closest thing the UK has to a good gaming tournament. Both were real fun to watch, despite the French player Louffy completely exposing the UK and it’s inability to understand the Rose matchup. SB was an incredible watch though, even the Marvel was amazing. Momochi put on a beyond solid performance and bodied the best the US could offer with his amazing Cody footsies. Ricky Ortiz really showed up with his awesome Rufus but seemed a few steps down from being able to give Momochi a good match. He did however go to work on Poongko and Uryo which is an incredible feat in itself. The world proved it’s dominance over the US and wrecked them in their 5vs5 exhibition, led on by a perfect 5-0 by Poongko.
So the weekend just gone was MCM, which i’ve attended every London and Telford Expo for close to 2 years now. This being the first one i’ve missed in a while was quite a downer at first, but in the long run probably the best decision to make. Would have cost way more money than I had access to and I would have been tired for starting work today. The EGL stream kept me entertained anyway
I’d like to have been there too, not that I was even aware it was on until a few days before….doh!
So this month was a very important time for me, as SNSD released their comeback album “The Boys” (which I will be purchasing when I finish writing this!). As a big SNSD fanboy I was positively squealing with excitement with every trailer released (all 10 billion of them in the space of a few weeks) and joined my fellow K-Pop fans in heralding their return. The album is AMAZING. I must say I was a bit sceptical after a few comments when it was released about some tracks being bad but they were completely proved wrong, as for 4 days in a row I listened to the album at least 3 times each day. Each track contributes something in it’s own little way in such an effective manner than it covers quite a lot of bases for musical taste. Of course you have to be into K-Pop to really feel this anyway but now there’s even the English Version of the title track and first single “The Boys” included on the US release of the album and it’s actually really good! I feel a fair amount of K-Pop artists’ English can be a bit awkward but for the most part The Boys really does well and I may even like it just as much as the Korean version. So I emplore you to check the album out, it’s super addictive, not as much as Gee but still a large amount.
I’ve decided to move my anime from weekly into it’s own specific weekly blog. It’ll be fairly short but it helps me remember what I need to write and my brain from getting all jumbled up. Bear with me guys
So I think that’s me for now i’ll make sure this time I get back a lot sooner than a month’s time!
Cipe out~
