Hai guys and gals. Hope you had an awesome week!

This week was essentially made to be built up to the amazing saturday that is MCM Expo. So this week essentially pales in comparison to the weekend, heck i’m even struggling to remember what happened. One important thing is that I decided to take the plunge and pick up the Infinite Stratos anime. I’d been reading a tonne about it online and decided to see what the hype is about. I’m SO glad I did as it’s probably my favourite anime this season. While it is essentially a school-mecha-harem, it’s providing for some absolutely adorable moments, plenty of possible waifu prospects and maybe even a bit of story, just maybe. My favourite’s of the bunch are childhood friend Houki and resident reverse-trap and part-time slut Charlotte. Plan on picking up the LNs soon, because the story could be amazing. Houki, seems to be getting friend-zoned hard at the moment. Hope things looks up for her. Charlotte however is full steam ahead, sharing a room with the guy. It’s already made for some interesting, easily predictable scenes having a guy and a girl sleep in the same room. Enter falling over almost naked screencap:

Charlotte IS Kegged

Charlotte was obviously unaware "kegging" took place in the boys locker room

The ISs themselves seem to have the potential to make for some awesome fighting scenes, usually using Ichika as some sort of prize for all the swooning women at the IS academy. Guess that’s waht you get when you’re knee deep in clunge :P .

In other news Skins is getting pretty good. The episode over last week was alot more like the Skins everyone has become familiar with and the next one looks to beat it using the same formula. As for character development I feel they could have done a bit more with Liv but was still quite a fulfilling episode to watch and I look forward to this thursday to see if they can follow it up :) . I really hope they can as it’s pretty much the only actual TV show i’m watching right now :P .

During the week I invested £7 in a sealed copy of Forza 3 and £17 on a Deluxe Edition copy of Deathsmiles. Both have proved to be well worth the prices I paid for them. Forza is a nice relief from my usual type of game, it’s the kind of game you buy to try something new and massively enjoy it. Never been much of a racer guy but it’s really enjoyable and alot better than previous driving-sims i’ve played in a while. Deathsmiles is an absolutely BEASTLY bullet hell shooter from Cave who make some amazing shooters. The characters are cute, the gameplay is frantic and some of the achievements look like they would make you murder your mother for. It’s crazily addictive and if I didn’t feel so guilty doing so i’d dedicate the next few months practising every level like a boss until I could emerge through any cloud of bullets. Casper is by far my favourite character as she literally doesn’t give a f*** and acts like a complete badass in the process. Rosa seems to be the easiest to play as but her familiar has both it’s advantages and disadvantages. The soundtrack is pure amazing as well, i’d highly recommend it to anyone even slightly interested in these types of game.

My week seems to also have been spent on Runescape yet again. Dungeoneering is really getting good (title of blog reference yet again) and I can’t get enough of it in a party. Alone it’s a bit dull though. Looking on enjoying more time on RS if I can keep up with this assignment s***load that seems to be on the horizon. Android is quite annoying to work on because Eclipse chooses to crash every 5 minutes on the uni machines so that’s not really in my good books at the moment, especially as I get up at 9 to get in for it. However the assignment is essentially week based work so I should be able to get a good mark on it :D . Forensics and Web Media Programming are out and must be cracked on with at somepoint. WMP will hopefully be enjoyable to get a final product out of and Forensics doesn’t look massively difficult. JSP looms in the near future but for now it’ll back-seat to these more imminent ones :P .

Also seem to notice I have a fetish for smileys. Opinions on if it’s too frequent? The tongue seems to be very fitting for most situations (that’s what she said!).

Anyway the weekend I shall cover in a seperate post, it deserves on and I can hit it up for pictures of my snaz aswell so look forward to. Short and sweet this week guys, keep it real.

Hey there guys. I’m quite aware it’s been over 2 weeks since i’ve blogged so I decided while i’ve got some time to myself i’d try to get everyone up to date :P .

The first week of February wasn’t really a majorly eventful one. Our Animé Night was very quickly thrown on me late and it didn’t help I was quite late myself. However the situation was quickly remedied with some shonen goodness in the hands of Fairy Tail, FMA: Brotherhood and one I hold very close to my heart, Angelic Layer. While i’m still unsure what to make of the other 2, AL was one of the first animé I had the pleasure of watching and CLAMP once again tugged at my heartstrings and gave me those beautiful character designs I love far too much. I have watched the original FMA so Brotherhood is a bit of a tedious watch. Yes it may be superior, sticks better to the story etc. but frankly I feel like i’m watching the same series again and it’s not all that fun, could have done that with the original. Fairy Tail is pretty good but at times quite the generic shonen, something I started to grow out of a while ago and have only really continued with Bleach.

Anyway the rest of the week went by pretty quickly. I’m actually playing alot of Runescape again these days, reliving my early teen years and must say i’m really enjoying it. While i’ve tried alot of MMOs since I quit it in 2006, i’ve found they don’t really “scratch my itch” so to speak. It’s a very comfortable game for me which I first experienced when I was about 11 years old and started playing properly when I was 13. Had many good years on it with some awesome people and find it pretty simple and diverse to play compared to other MMOs which seem to be “quest or kill” orientated. The economy is a particularly interesting part of the game, something Jagex had a major influence on during the last few years with the GE and trade capping updates. This has however been dropped this month by a 91% vote by the players and has returned both The Wilderness and Free Trade. If you have no idea what i’m talking about look it up, it’s a nice little story of the people getting their say for once. The title of this post is a big thumbs up to the dungeoneering skill which I must say i’m enjoying a lot.

Last week ended with, as most of you know, was Superbowl XLV (or 45 for you lazy people). While I am in no way a citizen of the US, it’s been a tradition for the past 7 years or so for me and had a very proud streak of 4 correct predictions on the winners. This year was the curse to my luck however when the Green Bay Packers took the game by 31-25. It was a very give or take game at times and Steelers looked the better team coming in the 2nd half but it wasn’t to be with some nasty interceptions ruining their chances. Managed to make a night out of it with a good takeaway and some general chitchat and lols all around.

The weekend however began with a Friday night and lots of Saturday with my lovely girlfriend Z. We go to universities a short while away and going into year 2 keeps us both quite busy with work and things so we only get to see each other every few weekends. Without going off on some soppy tangent, she is pretty much my rock in life. I was insanely lucky to meet someone who is beautiful, sweet, caring, intelligent and doesn’t find me a creepy Otaku ;) . But yeah, she’s my everything. We had a lovely meal at Frankie and Benny’s (when isn’t a meal there lovely?) and some time together which was well needed. More of that later though :P

The following was quite disheartening to start out. This year, in particular, i’m having real trouble getting out of bed with enough time to get ready and take the short stroll into university. I know I should be getting more sleep most nights, but even when I do get a decent sleep the night before my alarm seems to only reach me 10 minutes before the lecture/tutorial starts. Being as i’m a 20-25 minutes casual stroll in you can already see a problem shaping. I’m lucky enough to grab lifts from L and R 3 of the 5 days a week and one of the other days I can usually count on N to bang my door so I don’t miss Android programming. I managed to miss another JSP lecture this week which also happens to be one of the weirdest modules to get my head around so far. Not that it’s insanely difficult, I just get a fair bit confused with the servlet files linking in with the html and stuff most of the time.

Anywho, the week itself was quite pleasant. Watched the live-action Battle Royale movie at the society meet on wednesday which was pretty awesome. Have had it for a while but never got round to watching it despite having seen clips from it years before. It had some insane moments and made for some amusing one liners to be dropped so was overall an enjoyable experience. Really looking forward to seeing everyone again tomorrow and more importantly, the future prospect of hoodys coming! Will post a picture when it arrives.

Thursday night……I won’t mention much about. The only comments to be made are that it was incredibly surreal, Black Swan is weird as f*** and takeaways still taste good despite being stone cold and pretty hard.

The weekend began with a very late wakeup on Friday afternoon at about 2:45. I quickly rushed to get into university for my last tutorial of the week for JSP. Then I made my way home quickly and got a train back to my home-home (not to confused with university house) and spent the night with my Z, which consisted of pretty much sleeping :P . I got the bus into town with my mother to get a suit for my working placement interview on the 22nd. Haven’t worn a suit in a while so it was actually quite exciting in a really sad way. Got a nice little grey suit with this nice black sorta trim on the edges of the jacket and a black shirt. Looks proper dank, trust :P .

Anyway onto the weird, city centre really makes for some odd sights. Usually it’s just street people trying to make money or some drunk guy but this time I spotted 3 wizards. Not having a clue what they were doing it for I shook it off and continued with the day. However later on this was followed by a lone Naruto cosplayer strolling through the city centre getting quite a few weird looks along the way. While not a big Naruto fan, I did appreciate his gusto, and also wondered what kind of weird stuff am I missing out on.

The day ended with a an amazing performance by one of my favourite comedians, Mr Russell Howard. Certain comedians really stand out to me in ways I can’t really explain and he is definitely one of them. He first caught my attention on panel show Mock the Week and i’ve loved him ever since. His random voices, hilarious stories and general out take on life have me in stitches and the show was no exception. Any man who can compare Justin Bieber to an autistic kid on a maternity ward is just pure brilliant. Managed to get me and Z floor seats for her Christmas present in December and was the first time i’d been that close during a show. Was quite brilliant :) .

Other recent things to discuss is the current series of Skins. While most people aren’t a fan of the series past 2, I decided to stick it out and keep going and i’m actually finding this series pretty decent. Sure it isn’t that vibrant and doesn’t really stands out at the moment but I think there’s only so much you can ask of a show that’s done 4 series and full of fans hung up the original cast leaving. I’m hoping it really takes off and the next episode on this Thursday looks to be pretty interesting.

In the WWE Universe i’ve just been informed that The Rock is hosting Wrestlemania this year. While it wasn’t the biggest shocker ever, it sure is nice to see a much loved old face come back for a visit. I often felt annoyed at him avoiding the WWE to become a serious actor, not because it’s not logical but because without the WWE he wouldn’t have become such a household name. Not that I hold anything against him, it really is nice to see him back. As a Cena fan from since 2004, I find people often compare him to The Rock is a negative way, especially via Facebook pages and groups. I’d like to drop my opinion on the pile on this matter though, Cena isn’t meant to “be” The Rock. A person being the head of the company doesn’t make them The Rock. I think people don’t see this fact because the WWE was carried by Triple H for many years and he, for the most part, was known for being a heel.  Being the face of the company is a big deal in the WWE, all eyes are on you all the time and such. You’re expected to be a role models to kids and the like. Now WWE has gone quite child friendly in recent years, Cena has been shaped by them to appeal to who they see and their core market. While I don’t agree with most of the changes, Cena is still an amazing performer and paid his dues on the way up in the WWE like everyone else, if not more. Cutting promos, acting badass, defying the odds. These things aren’t The Rock personified. People like Hulk Hogan had been doing this for years, and I think people should just remember that.

Two men, carrying WWE over different eras?

In the world of Animu and Mango (high five for any reference getters) i’m still chuntering away with the series i’ve been watching. Bleach looks to be reaching it’s endpoint though there is the question of whether they are going to continue the animé or not up to the point the manga wants to reach (which is essentially endless, thanks Troll Kubo). Beelzebub is still providing the laughter needed this season and Puella Magi is delivering the beautiful art by the amazing SHAFT studios. I feel my stand out of the bunch is the animé I mentioned in the last blog, Oniichan no Koto. While the whole premise, as previously mentioned, is rather f***ed up, it’s absolutely hilarious at times and I can’t help but fall for the characters. The art style is quirky, but a unique touch apparently carried over from the manga. In particular I seem to have a soft spot for Mayuka Kondō, the seemingly nice girl of the bunch only to turn out to be a fanatical yaoi fan-girl who manages to get Shusuke essentially on her beck and call (if that’s even how you use that phrase).

Miss Kondo in action

I also started putting some real effort into watching Toradora! which I began at a society meet a while back. It’s such a cute animé and i’m really enjoying it but can’t comment much on it at the moment, only being 5 episodes in. Hope to give you more input soon on it, but there’s one thing I know for sure. Taiga is bloody adorable!

And that folks, is all I have for now. I’ve infact spent most of  my conscious hours today writing this so i’m off to enjoy my day. Hope you all have a lovely one too and thanks for reading :)

Leave me a comment as per usual and I will love you lots and lots forever (maybe).
